Transcend Warrior – Caitlin Sutton

My Story:

I have had hypoglycemia unawareness since I was diagnosed 14 years ago. I found out about diabetic alert dogs when I was a junior in high school and did a bunch of research and fundraising. I ended up getting my best friend Ellie, a chocolate lab, and over the years she has saved my life more times than I can count. There is one time I can vividly remember; I was on the second story of the house and I was so low that I could not stand. She had alerted me to my low sugar and I told her that I could not get up and that I needed help. Ellie got up and opened the doors so she could go downstairs and get me juices. She did this three times and had she not done this for me I am not sure what would have happened. I am so happy that I have her with me and that she has helped me with more than just my sugars.
