This August 1st will mark my 16th year living with T1D. There are so many highs and lows, quite figuratively and literally, living with this disease, but it’s given me the chance to use my powers for good. I’ve always had a passion for working with children and have been able to in both my professional and personal life. As a mental health clinician, I get to advocate for children of all walks of life and help them grow and accelerate just as much as I do when I’m nannying for T1D. No matter what we’re battling with it’s important for us to know that we’re not alone in our fight.
